Caught in between the two alternatives makes no easy way out for any of us. After the multi partyism in the early nineties, this will be the first time that we will have to make a choice between two options, both; equally good, and at the same time, worsely bad.
We may as well go on and do like the Israelites did-reject and break it. But the aftermath will be the same, more chaos, and eventually, we will be crying out for what we just trashed.
‘The ammendments can be done- there is still time.’ But who doesn’t know that in Africa, there is never time for anything? They are however welcome, and good. Just look at the ‘Constitution’ given to the Israelites as they left Egypt, a thousand and one rules. Later on, they were ammended into the Ten Commandments, and later on, TWO-love of God and of parents.
The best I know is that the two camps especially the No one need to hire a linguist to interpret and help them understand whatever clause(s) they can’t fathom its meaning within the constitution.
For the people who see no bright future in any of this, or, continually show signs of pessimism, they are no better than prophets of doom, or the holier than thou Pharisees, and people who curse their opposers and the generations to come…all in the name of the Lord.
